Worcester Business Journal
Having celebrated its 10-year anniversary in 2000, this bi-weekly business news journal has attracted a loyal and affluent audience in the Central Massachusetts and MetroWest regions. Known for its inventive cover photos and comprehensive feature articles, the Worcester Business Journal is a recognized leader at home and nationally. In June 2001 the publication won four different awards for its editorial excellence from the Association of Area Business Publications, outshining several business journals from the nation’s top markets.
In-depth news briefs, corporate profiles, Q&A-style interviews, business incorporations, profiles of movers and shakers and regional spotlights combine to make the WBJ the top choice for in-depth local business information.
The Worcester Business Journal publishes 28 issues a year including their annual Book of Lists and Fact Book. The paper serves Worcester County and the I-495 section of Middlesex County, which includes 109 communities.

From the MetroWest region up and down Interstate 495 north to the New Hampshire border, south to the Connecticut border, and west short of Springfield, the Worcester Business Journal covers a dynamic and growing region of the state. Central Massachusetts is home to more than 740,000 people, with an average household income of $49,305.
In the heart of Central Massachusetts is the city of Worcester, the third-largest city in New England. It is within an hour’s drive of Providence RI, Hartford CT, Nashua NH, Boston and Springfield, MA. It is also a three-hour ride from New York City. Worcester is considered a prime area to do business with 8 million people residing within a 75-mile radius. The region is home to a strong base of high-tech, manufacturing, insurance and biotech companies to name just a few of the leading industries.
Massachusetts has the third- highest level of personal income per capita—25% higher than the U.S. average. In 2000 alone, Massachusetts added a record 58,700 jobs. The state was recently ranked fourth in the country for fastest-growing high-tech companies by Inc. magazine.
