Vermont Business Magazine

Worcester Business Journal
Since 1972, Vermont Business Magazine has been the definitive source for business information for the state of Vermont. The publication delivers in-depth and accurate business news and information to an influential, well-educated and affluent audience with each monthly issue.
Vermont Business Magazine is the only business publication covering all of Vermont. The tabloid-format publication averages about 80 pages an issue and includes a graphically pleasing full-bleed, full-color cover, with full and spot color available inside.
The publication is known for the informative statewide lists, which include Vermont 100 Plus, a list of top Vermont companies by sales volume; Vermont’s Top Employers, Largest Contractors, and Largest Automotive Deal-ers lists. The publication also produces a Media Guide, Computer Guide and Professional Services Guide. Major annual publications include: Book of Lists, a compilation of facts and figures critical for doing business in Vermont; and the Vermont Business & Manufacturers Directory, a comprehensive list of Vermont manufacturers and major businesses.

With its total population of 608,827 Vermont is considered the most rural of the United States because a sizeable percentage of its residents live in communities of 2,500 or less.
Vermont is attracting more firms and independent business professionals in search of the quality of life they just cannot find anywhere else. Cottage industries have long prospered in the state, manufacturing a variety of products from ice cream to knitwear. According to Vermont’s Chamber of Commerce, “the state’s employment base consists of production of electronic components and equipment, machine tools, specialty products, quarried and finished stone, and printing... . Dairying is the primary farm industry in Vermont, producing more than two billion pounds of milk annually.” Not surprisingly, Vermont leads the nation in production of maple syrup, but is also the largest producer of monument granite and marble.
Vermont is also very active in promoting international trade, as the state chamber of commerce is the only chamber in the country with an office in Taiwan. According to the chamber, the office was established to “increase the visibility and sales of Vermont’s products and services wishing to do business in Taiwan and other parts of Asia.”
